Bluetooth Proximity Marketing // F.A.Q's
Does it cost a recipient to receive data via Bluetooth?
Does it cost a recipient to receive data via Bluetooth? No, Bluetooth is a free connectivity medium for use of transfer of data between devices. What can I send out via Bluetooth? The Bluetooth Hotspot will broadcast any medium, ie: video, webpages, mp3 or images. The restriction is in what the end user handset can open and use (ie- some forms of video may not be compatible with all handsets). The size of the file is also a factor, files that are too large will have a lower success rate for acceptance as they can take too long to transfer or the end user may not have enough memory in their device or they may simply time-out or go out of the hotspot range before completion of download. We reccomend using animated image files in most cases as these are small and engaging and more than suitable for most uses. Is Bluetooth Proximity Marketing spamming? There is alot of confusion and misunderstanding surrounding this topic. The simple answer is no Bluetooth Proximity Marketing is not spamming as recipients are given the choice whether to accept the material or not and in most cases people who leave there Bluetooth switched on are doing so in order to interact with other users and devices. In our opinion Bluetooth marketing is far less intrusive than being flyered by a person in the street or receiving unwelcome advertising text messages and can also often provide a better response. Can I Send more than one flyer on my one broadcast slot? No, each broadcast slot can only hold one item, if you require the broadcast of more than one item then you will require another slot. Does the broadcast unit turn peoples Bluetooth on? No, this would be constituted as hacking, illegal and an invasion of privacy. The Bluetooth Hotspot will only find Bluetooth devices that are enabled and visible. Don't see the answer to your question here?
